Team up targets security, content protection on Cavium's media SoC
05 Jun 2012Elliptic's tVault-based content protection solutions are standards-compliant security technologies that allow consumers to enjoy high definition premium content anywhere and at anytime, while safeguarding the rights of media producers to protect their investment in programming production. The company added that these solutions integrate efficiently with ARM TrustZone and enforce robust end-to-end security in connected devices by embedding the critical security components in trusted and secure OS environments, and by ensuring that the sensitive information is stored, processed and accessed only by authorized applications. The non-critical components are executed by a rich OS such as Android.
Cavium's PureVu family of low latency wireless display SoC's is based on a high performance ARM subsystem and dedicated video, audio, graphics and security hardware engines. The high performance CNW6611L SoC displays high resolution video and at the same time performs all required networking and decryption tasks to ensure a robust video delivery of premium content.
Elliptic offers security solutions spanning silicon cores to embedded software that help facilitate the adoption of Digital Rights Management (DRM) and content protection technologies. These highly-integrated solutions enable silicon vendors, device manufacturers and network operators to shorten their time to market and allow them to safely distribute high-value digital content to consumer electronic products.
