Keyence unveils single click 3D macroscope17 Jun 2013
Keyence recently rolled out the VR-3000 One-Shot 3D measuring macroscope, allowing users to perform accurate and repeatable noncontact profiles and measurements over a wide area with just the push of a button. The scope uses a one-shot, three-dimensional algorithm to enable 3D surface measurements, including height, angles, and radii, to be taken simultaneously.
With a single click, the VR-3000 automatically scans and collects 3D data without the need to set or adjust individual parameters. It also calculates profiles, roughness, waviness, height changes, angles, and volumes. Once the data is collected, users can create reports with the built-in software and export files directly to a CAD program.
All measurements in the X, Y, and Z axes are traceable to international standards, while a supplied calibration gauge allows anyone to calibrate the equipment on-site. Three double-telecentric lenses minimise distortion and ensure accurate measurements throughout the field of view.
The VR-3000 measuring system can also be used as a microscope for everyday inspection tasks. It offers a magnification range of 12X to 160X and includes a digital camera for capturing images with a resolution of up to 9 Mpixels.
