Sony brings compactflash cards in Asia Pacific

Sony Electronics Asia Pacific Pte Ltd has announced entry into the CompactFlash market with Sony’s CompactFlash cards. Available in 1GB, 2GB and 4GB of memory capacity, Sony’s CompactFlash cards provide performance in memory storage for compatible products including Sony’s α100, D-SLR camera. The line-up includes CompactFlash cards with transfer speeds of 66x and 133x, enabling immediate data writing from D-SLR camera to card and speedy data transfer between card and PC.

Ozawa Manabu, director, recording media & energy division, Sony Electronics Asia Pacific, said, “Sony aims to complement the overall solution experience for users of α100 and CompactFlash users with the introduction of Sony’s first CompactFlash card. As demand for high-speed and high capacity CompactFlash card grows for serious camera users, Sony caters to consumers’ demands by extending the storage media devices from Memory Stick and Micro Vault to CompactFlash cards.”
