Digi Jumpstart kits to develop Linux, Windows CE and NET+OS embedded applications
(Product News, 21 Feb 2007 )
Digi International introduced its new Digi JumpStart Kits that make it easy for design engineers to develop embedded products with Digi NET+ARM modules. Digi JumpStart Kits include all the hardware and software tools necessary for wired and wireless embedded product development. With Linux, Windows CE, and NET+OS options, Digi JumpStart Kits are available for a wide variety of commercial grade embedded networking needs.
Larry Kraft, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Digi International, said, "Digi JumpStart Kits provide features typical of development kits priced at or above $2,500. They really are a tremendous value for the time-stressed engineer. The kits allow programmers to develop 32-bit embedded applications within an hour of opening the box."
Digi JumpStart Kits support Digi Connect and ConnectCore wired and wireless modules and make it easy to evaluate both ARM and networking technologies for future products. Digi ESP, a new Eclipse-based Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for NET+OS and Linux, is included. Digi will provide ongoing enhancements and technical support for Digi ESP and the Eclipse framework. Windows CE support is also provided for Microsoft Visual Studio and Platform Builder.
Kraft, stated, "Digi JumpStart Kits are among the first development kits to offer support for Microsoft's new Windows Embedded CE 6.0. This gives our customers a wider choice of development platforms when using our modules and kits."
