EPCOS develops ferrite materials for SMPS and current meters

(Product News, 02 Mar 2007 )

EPCOS, manufacturers of sensors and sensor systems for temperature measurement announced that it has developed new ferrite materials for the power range typical of SMPS and current meters. N95 is distinguished by a flux density of 525 mT at 25 ¡ÆC and 410 mT at 100 ¡ÆC. A feature is its low power dissipation at 100 ¡ÆC: 250 kW/m at 500 kHz and a flux density of 50 mT. It has an optimum operating frequency range of between 25 kHz and 500 kHz. Typical applications of N95 are power transformers in SMPS. This material is available in the E, ER and ETD cores. EPCOS
