FeatureTel selects Tekelec 6000 VoIP for PBX services

Tekelec--a developer of high performance network applications for next generation fixed, mobile and packet networks--announced that FeatureTel, provider of voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) services, has selected the Tekelec 6000 VoIP Application Server to enable hosted private branch exchange (PBX) services.

The Tekelec 6000 provides a flexible, feature rich, scalable application server that enables tailored service packages and supports the carrier¡¯s growth plans. It is also a standards based carrier grade VoIP platform and session border controller that works with a range of network equipment and protocols and can scale to support many hundreds of thousands of users in a distributed network. Its IP multimedia service control (ISC) interface and session initiation protocol (SIP) profiling capabilities.
