Renesas releases mobile video-phone middleware package

Renesas Technology Corp. today announced the addition of support functions for 3G-324M*1 standard additional specifications H.264*2 and AMR-WB*3 in its Mobile Video-phone Middleware Package software for embedded systems using an SH-Mobile*4 application processor. Provision of the functionally enhanced Mobile Video-phone Middleware Package will be available from April 2007 in Japan.
The Mobile Video-phone Middleware Package is software for use with an SH-Mobile application processor incorporating an H.264/MPEG--4*5 full hardware accelerator, and enables implementation of high-quality video-phone functions conforming to the 3G-324M standard for third-generation (3G) mobile phone audiovisual communications.
