(Business News, 23 Mar 2007 )

Aviza Technology Inc., supplier of advanced semiconductor capital equipment and process technologies for the global semiconductor industry and related markets, has received a new order for its Advanced Vertical Processor (AVP) 200-mm thermal processing system from a Chinese semiconductor foundry. The foundry customer plans to use the AVP system for the production of flash memory IC devices.

May Su, vice president and general manager thermal business unit of Aviza, said, "We are delighted to have secured a new customer for Aviza’s AVP system in China, as this is an important region and market for Aviza, in which we continue to strengthen our presence. Our proprietary processes developed for Flash devices on the AVP system fulfill a critical application for floating gates. By leveraging a dual boat platform, the AVP tool is capable of continuous operation, resulting in increased throughput and low cost of ownership. We believe that the AVP system will complement the customer's existing manufacturing capabilities, and we look forward to supporting their existing and future needs."
