Wipro Technologies, the global IT services business of Wipro Limited has announced that Wipro BPO has won International Quality and Productivity Center's (IQPC) 2007 Global BPO Standard Bearer award. Wipro BPO made a clean sweep at the awards ceremony winning awards in all the major categories at a ceremony held recently in Hyderabad. T K Kurien, CEO, Wipro BPO won the 2007 Global BPO Industry Leader award. Apart from the 20007 Global BPO Standard Bearer Award, Wipro BPO also won the 2007 Global KPO Excellence Award and the 2007 Global Standard Bearer for Talent Management.
Wipro BPO was chosen for the award based on sustained organizational performance, market leadership, profitability and revenue growth.
Acknowledging the award, T K Kurien, CEO, Wipro BPO, said, "we are delighted to receive the '2007 Global BPO Standard Bearer Award'. The 2007 Global Excellence Awards was established to honour, recognize and promote organisations and individuals within the shared services and outsourcing community that demonstrated best practices, outstanding leadership, innovation and value addition in this constantly evolving industry. To identify and assess these leading organisations and individuals, the Shared Services & Outsourcing Network had instituted a nominations process, supported by a voting college consisting of community (public) votes, as well as votes from the delegates and speakers of the 2007 Global Conclave.
Wipro BPO recently won Outsourcing Excellence Award for work done for Delta Air Lines Inc. Wipro was recently ranked among the top 10 global outsourcing companies in the world in the IAOP-Fortune Global Outsourcing 100 listings and was also named a winner of the NASSCOM IT innovation awards recently.
