ILS (Instrument Landing System) and VOR (VHF Omnidirectional Radio) help pilots to navigate and land their aircraft safely.
Rohde & Schwarz developed the R&S EVS300 for checking and maintaining the corresponding systems. The robust R&S EVS300 level and modulation analyzer has been supplemented by numerous new functions particularly for the flight checks using survey aircrafts. Light in weight (<6 kg), the instrument is ideal for outdoor measurements at airports or measurements in the laboratory. The instrument also features extremely fast measurement data processing as well as a large internal data memory.
The new functions of the R&S EVS300 make it a measuring instrument for flight checks and ground-based measurements. Furthermore, all important data from the air and from the ground can be easily combined. The advantage: The complexity of test systems for testing in accordance with recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO, Doc. 8071) is drastically reduced.
The R&S EVS300 offers highly accurate localizer, glidepath, and marker beacon measurements for ILS signal analysis. The R&S EVS-K3 option makes it possible to analyze both carriers of a two-frequency ILS system simultaneously or individually. In addition to modulation parameters, level and phase relationships of the course and clearance signals of an ILS system can be exactly measured in the operating mode. The R&S EVS-B1 option adds a second, independent signal processing channel allowing the user to perform parallel localizer and glidepath measurements, for example.
