Low-power transceivers for industrial automation

( 01 Dec 2004 )

Texas Instruments' three full-featured, low-power 5V half-duplex RS-485 transceivers offer what's said to be "best-in-class bus-pin ESD protection of 15kV." With an industry-standard SN75176 footprint and integrated receiver failsafe design, these products eliminate the need for external components and provide a rich feature set for applications such as industrial automation and battery-powered applications.

TI's transceivers provide a rich feature set for industrial automation and battery-powered applications.

The SN65HVD485 and SN65HVD308x half-duplex transceivers are ideal for RS-485 data bus networks. Powered by a 5V supply, they are fully compliant with the TIA/EIA-485A standard. The HVD3085E and HVD3088E are designed to operate with very low supply current, typically less than 0.4mA, excluding load.
