Network Appliance has announced the promotion of Simon Green to the role of Vice President of Sales for Asia Pacific.
In his new role, Green will be responsible for accelerating the growth of the NetApp business across the APAC region, including strengthening the company's channel strategy and strategic channel partnerships. He will also focus on nurturing local relationships with global alliance partners, including Avanade, Brocade, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, SAP and Symantec.
Further responsibilities include focusing on the NetApp emerging products business in the areas of data security, disk-to-disk backup and disaster recovery. All country managers for NetApp in Asia Pacific, excluding Japan, will now report into Green.
Green began with NetApp in 2000 and has since held various senior sales, channel and customer-focused positions. Most recently, Green was Vice President for Go-To-Market across Asia Pacific, where he was responsible for building the NetApp-IBM relationship, developing and driving channel programs across the region and devising major account strategies.
Prior to that, Green held the role of Area Director, South Asia for NetApp, where he was responsible for setting and driving the company’s strategic direction in Australia, New Zealand, ASEAN, India and Hong Kong.
Before his South Asia role, Green was Managing Director for NetApp Australia and New Zealand, a role which gave him responsibility for all business operations for NetApp in the area.
In his latest position, Green will continue to report to Charlie Trentacosti, Vice President and General Manager for NetApp Asia Pacific.
