(Business News, 23 Jul 2007 )

Mouser Electronics, Inc., known for its rapid introduction of the newest products, has signed a distribution agreement with CCS, Inc. (Custom Computer Services, Inc.), an embedded software and hardware design company specializing in development tools for Microchip PIC MCUs. Development tools for Microchip's 8- and 16-bit devices include a C Compiler, prototyping boards, and programmer/debugger units.

Mouser's on-the-shelf inventory includes CCS development tools for a variety of Microchip MCUs, including the PCB, PCM, and PCH command-line compilers, as well as the PCW and PCWH IDE compilers; the ICD-U40 and ICD-S40 in-circuit debuggers/programmers; and the PIC16F877A, PIC18F4520, embedded Ethernet, and RFID development kits.

"We look forward to gaining new customers by penetrating new market segments through Mouser's unique engineering customer base," said CCS President Mark Siegesmund. "We feel certain Mouser's quick introduction of our development tools will help accomplish that goal."

According to Mike Scott, Mouser Vice President of Active Products, adding the wide variety of CCS development tools for Microchip MCUs provides Mouser customers the opportunity to purchase both Microchip products and the associated CCS development tools through one easy channel.

"Our engineering customers require access to the newest products and technologies available for their new designs," Scott said. "By adding CCS's innovative development tools for Microchip devices, we make it easier for engineers to obtain the tools they need for successful completion of their design projects in a timely manner, thus delivering a time-to-market advantage."
The distributor's broad-based product line, unsurpassed customer service, and streamlined warehouse operations make Mouser the design engineer's one-stop shop for all the board-level components and associated development tools necessary for total project design.
