Semtech Appoints Interim CEO

(Interviews, 29 Sep 2005 )
Online staff, Electronic News

Semtech Corporation has appointed chairman John Poe as acting CEO on an interim basis following the termination of Jason L. Carlson as the company’s president and CEO.
Poe will serve as acting CEO until a permanent replacement has been identified. He previously served as Semtech’s CEO from October 1985 until October 2003.
“My focus in this interim role will be on the selection of new growth opportunities, a reduction in the time-to-market for new product introductions and, ultimately, a higher return on research and development spending,” Poe said in a statement regarding his appointment.
Carlson, who also resigned as a member of Semtech’s board of directors, was terminated effective immediately by mutual agreement, the company said. No further details were given.
Semtech also reaffirmed its guidance for fiscal third quarter 2006 results, ending October 30.
