CopperGate Communications has opened a branch office in Taiwan to better serve the rapidly growing interest in its CopperStream chipset solution and the heavy design activity in that region.
"We are experiencing strong and growing interest in products that integrate CopperGate's CopperStream(TM) HomePNA 3 chipset," said Tony Wang, Product Manager for Asus. "We believe that CopperGate's decision to open a local support office is very timely and we are counting on their continued support to bring low cost high performance multimedia home networking products to market."
"The availability of local technical support is a critical component that will help us deliver products that meet and exceed the performance requirements demanded by our customers and required by the HomePNA alliance," said Igor Chen, Product Line Manager for Gemtek. "CopperGate's new office will enable us to deliver our products to the market more quickly and efficiently."
"HomePNA 3 technology has become the technology of choice of a growing number of major service providers for deploying IP based broadband access and TV services," said Rami Kopelman, VP of Business Development. "We are excited with the amount of interest and design activity we are seeing in Taiwan and China and have established the new office to better support our customers."
The new office is managed by Charles Chiu, Branch Manager, Taiwan, an industry veteran with experience in data communications at companies including Cisco and Marvell.
The CopperStream chipset, which has been in production for two years, has been integrated into a rapidly growing number of residential gateways, set-top boxes, Fiber ONTs, Ethernet bridges, and other equipment for IPTV, home networking and multiple dwelling/multiple tenant unit (MDU/MTU) broadband access applications.
