"Smallest" dual USB switches with 1.2A current per channel
( 01 Nov 2004 )
The MAX1558/MAX1558H dual current-limited switches feature autoreset, fault blanking, and reverse current blocking for USB applications in notebook and desktop computers, USB hubs, and PDAs. Delivering up to 1.2A output current per channel, the devices have low switch resistance of 55m˝, quiescent supply current of 45mA, 2.7 to 5.5V input voltage range, and standby current of 3µA to conserve battery power. Built-in thermal-overload protection limits power dissipation and junction temperature. An accurate, programmable, internal current-limiting circuit protects the input supply against both overload and short-circuit conditions. Independent fault signals notify the microprocessor when thermal-overload, current-limit, undervoltage-lockout (UVLO), or short-circuit faults occur. Housed in 333mm, 10-pin TDFN packages.
