Venturi Powers Reliance Infocomm's Innovative Netconnect Service

(Interviews, 05 Sep 2006 )

Venturi Wireless has announced that Reliance Infocomm, India's largest CDMA operator, has deployed the Venturi optimization solution to enable its newly launched Netconnect with Netbooster service. Reliance's Netconnect with Netbooster service is an innovative mobile broadband service targeted at demanding professionals looking to maximize their connectivity at all times. Through the deployment of the Venturi solution, Reliance Netbooster customers experience maximum performance of their data services, including Web, email, file transfer and streaming multimedia.

Consistent, superior user experience and reliable connectivity are critical for Reliance Infocomm's demanding and growing customer base. Reliance Infocomm selected Venturi Wireless and its cross-layer optimization solution over compression-based solutions because of the advantages of Venturi's Adaptive Airlink Optimization technology. Adaptive Airlink Optimization leverages the patented Venturi Transport Protocol (VTP), developed specifically for wireless data transport, delivering:
-- Enhanced Consumer Experience for all IP Traffic: Users experience faster speeds while browsing the Web, sending/receiving email, or downloading clips and files. More consistent connectivity along with greater reach maximizes the time consumers can take advantage of mobile data services.
-- Improved Network Efficiency: Maximizes use of available spectrum and radio network (RAN) resources, allowing mobile operators to fully leverage investments made in spectrum and network infrastructure.
-- High Availability: Carrier-grade solution architected for the most demanding service provider networks. Additional features include network-wide load balancing and N+1 failover.

"Reliance conducted a comprehensive evaluation of data optimization vendors and only Venturi Wireless with VTP was able to deliver the speed enhancement and service consistency under challenging network conditions that we required," said Dr. Vinod Vasudevan, Head Wireless Data at Reliance Infocomm. "The added benefits in performance, reliability and cost savings offered by Venturi further bolster our commitment to providing the best mobile data services in India."

"We look forward to working with Reliance Infocomm as it evolves its wireless network and launches new enhanced mobile data services on handsets and mobile devices," said Bret Sewell, President and CEO of Venturi Wireless. "As Reliance continues to expand its business in the second-fastest growing mobile market in the world, we will be there to help the company achieve its objectives of high customer satisfaction and profitable growth."
