China TechFaith Wireless Communication Technology Limited has announced the further expansion of its global reach with the three more carriers: Hutchison Cat Wireless Multimedia Ltd in Thailand; Asia Pacific Telecom Group in Taiwan; and Sferia S.A. in Poland. The first phase of these contracts is valued at approximately $3.2 million in total and will be delivered in three months. All contracts are for CDMA 1X ODM model phones.
By leveraging its advantages in handset design, TechFaith is now capable of providing tailor made, feature phone handset solutions that satisfy regional carriers' specifications globally. In the past three months, TechFaith's feature phones have successfully entered new international markets following the company's smartphone biness.
Defu Dong, TechFaith's Chairman and CEO, said, "Our new biness initiatives are clearly on track. While we are working with manufacturing partners to deliver an ODM model as requested, we are also evaluating other options since more and more ODM models are being requested by ctomers. We will update the market once we finalize our plans. In the interim, we continue to execute our biness strategy and gain momentum with ctomers."
