Codian Acquires Australian Based Face To Face Software

(Interviews, 24 Jan 2007 )

Codian, has announced that it has acquired Face To Face Software Ltd, headquartered in Sydney Australia. The deal includes a comprehensive multi-MCU scheduling package which will form the basis of the new Codian Management Platform.

David Holloway, CEO of Codian, commented: “Many of our customers have asked us for a Codian solution for managing multiple MCU’s and large scale conferencing networks. We are delighted to have reached agreement with the talented team at Face To Face to join Codian. This means that we can offer the great management and scheduling software they have created as a true Codian product. The new team will allow us to support and develop this key application still further.”

The Codian Management Platform (CMP) provides for scheduling conferences on the Codian MCU 4200, MCU 4500 and MSE 8000. It also enables automatic conference recording using the Codian IP VCR 2200. The system centers around an application server running Linux which delivers a highly scalable solution. Users can schedule conferences with a Web browser, incorporating an attractive, easy-to-use Web 2.0 interface; or if they prefer, they can use clients such as Microsoft Outlook. Designed for both end users and administrators, CMP incorporates advanced features such as integration with corporate authentication servers and address books as well as intelligent resource allocation and resilience.

“It is very exciting to be joining the Codian team,” said Simon Downey, formerly Sales Manager of Face To Face Software. “We are proud of the sophisticated product we have developed and we are determined to make the scheduling and management of Codian products always a delight and never a chore. We are looking forward to the challenge of integrating the rapidly expanding Codian product line.”

The team from Face To Face is based in Sydney and will join up with Codian’s existing staff to form Codian Australia. “It will be great having the new guys on board,” said Steve Neville, Codian’s Australian Sales Manager. “Having a growing development operation alongside sales and support will boost Codian’s presence in Australia and New Zealand.”
