PMC-Sierra Expands China Operations with Office in Shanghai

PMC-Sierra, Inc. has announced that it is increasing its presence in Greater China with the opening of a new sales and design center in Shanghai, China. Mr. Tom Sun, vice president, Asia Pacific Operations, continues to lead overall operations and the development of this center, which is focusing primarily on the development of PMC-Sierra’s enterprise storage and fiber access solutions.

“This opening reflects PMC-Sierra’s commitment to our many customers in China,” said Bob Bailey, PMC-Sierra’s chairman and CEO. “The sales and design center will enhance our ability to support our customers’ design and development efforts and help to accelerate time to market.”

Located in the state-of-the-art Zhangjiang Semiconductor Industrial Park, PMC-Sierra’s Shanghai office will benefit key Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) customers in the region, including Huawei, ZTE, Alcatel Shanghai Bell, Siemens, ZyXEL and many others. With a strong talent pool from local universities and close proximity to customers and ecosystem partners, PMC-Sierra Shanghai will help drive continued system-level innovation for PMC-Sierra’s global customers.
