Tundra, Enea JV to Deliver System Software Using RapidIO

(Top News, 06 Mar 2007 )

Enea and Tundra Semiconductor Corporation have collaborated to deliver Enea’s LINX interprocess communications (IPC) services over RapidIO. Working with Tundra’s new serial RapidIO development platforms, Enea has implemented and verified complete support for LINX over RapidIO and interoperability with Tundra’s RapidIO switches.

“Network equipment providers require flexible system architectures that can be easily reused across multiple product lines, scaled to meet increased subscriber demand, and upgraded to deliver new services,” said Linda Thompson, vice president of corporate alliances at Enea. “Tundra’s best-in-class RapidIO technology, coupled with our LINX IPC services, provides a high-performance, high-availability platform for deploying converged IP multimedia services that reduce capital and operating expenses for both equipment makers and service providers.”

“We were thrilled to partner with Enea to bring this technology to the communications infrastructure market,” said Daniel Hoste, president and CEO, Tundra Semiconductor. “RapidIO is the right System Interconnect for high bandwidth communications systems. Enea’s LINX over RapidIO will allow our customers to accelerate the deployment of new systems and services. RapidIO is increasingly penetrating new aspects of our customers’ and partners’ technologies," continued Hoste. "As RapidIO evolves, Tundra is meeting the increasing demand for its industry-leading expertise, products, and design tools."
