Ciranova Inc. and Applied Wave Research Inc. (AWR) have announced that AWR will distribute PyCell Studio with Analog Office software to its end users. AWR has also chosen to use PyCell Studio to develop PCells for process design kits (PDKs) for use in the Analog Office design suite, AWR's next-generation open radio-frequency integrated circuits (RFIC) design platform.
"We are using PyCell Studio to develop new PDKs for our Analog Office software," said Sarkis Narkizian, vice president of RFIC business development at AWR. "This agreement enables us to distribute PyCell Studio with the Analog Office product, so our customers can start using the new PDKs right away."
Analog Office customers will be able to use PyCell Studio to design ICs using the new PDKs provided by AWR, and to create their own OpenAccess PCells. PyCell Studio is a complete, stand-alone environment for building and deploying interoperable OpenAccess PCells and layout generators.
"We are very pleased that AWR will distribute PyCell Studio with the Analog Office design suite," said Michael Ma, Ciranova's vice president of business development. "AWR is a leading vendor in the high-frequency IC design space, so we made it a top priority to equip both their PDK developers and end users with PyCell Studio."
Analog Office software is a complete design system architected from the ground up for analog and RFIC designs. Ciranova and AWR collaborated to verify that PyCell Studio operates seamlessly within the Analog Office unified data model and design environment.
"PyCell Studio has freed our development team to focus resources on improving the overall design capabilities of Analog Office design suite, and will enable us to offer our customers higher quality PDKs in a shorter timeframe," said Sarkis Narkizian. "By distributing PyCell Studio with Analog Office software, we will equip our customers to be more productive, more quickly."
