Avnet Technology Solutions Launches Online Store for Enterprise Mobility Solutions

(Interviews, 19 May 2007 )

Avnet Technology Solutions, an operating group of Avnet Inc. and a distributor focused on enterprise computer products and embedded subsystems, has launched an online store for enterprise mobility solutions, which can be accessed at www.avnet.com/mobility. Avnet developed the online store to help independent software vendor (ISV), original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and value-added reseller (VAR) partners efficiently view and purchase enterprise mobility solutions, as well as educate them on a variety of optional accessories and services that will augment customer sales. Featuring enterprise mobility technologies such as barcode scanners, mobile computers, printers, RFID solutions, and wireless networking solutions, the new online store includes real-time inventory information on products from leading manufacturers such as Motorola, Intermec, HandHeld Products and Printronix.

"Avnet is committed to making strategic investments in the enterprise mobility market to help fuel our partners' growth and simplify the supply chain," said Michael Douglass, vice president, Enterprise Mobility, Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas. "The Avnet Mobility Store accelerates the time-to-market for our partners and educates them on technology choices, while enabling them to explore and purchase solutions on demand. The online store provides a perfect complement to our exceptional sales team, which assists partners with in-depth technical information, and insight into technology trends and supplier strategies."

The Avnet Mobility Store guides enterprise mobility partners throughout the solutions selection and purchase process with technology categories, and also educates partners on the variety of products and services within those categories. The educational experience is further enhanced with images and key attributes for each product. Additionally, partners will be prompted with accessory and warranty information for each of their applicable purchases, which creates incremental growth opportunities and the ability to offer their customers comprehensive enterprise mobility solutions.

"Avnet has developed its Mobility Store to focus on the information, services and tools that are most critical to our business in selecting and obtaining solutions," said Jill Neuman, account representative, The SMS Group. "The real-time inventory information available through the store allows us to confidently select solutions based on their availability and ensure that we can provide our customers with total solutions for their businesses on time. We look forward to continuing to explore the features of the online store and using aspects, such as accessory and warranty options, to further enhance our offerings to customers."
