Fujitsu Awarded Product Innovation of the Year by Frost & Sullivan

(Interviews, 05 May 2007 )

Fujitsu Computer Products of America Inc., one of the world's leading suppliers of innovative computer products including hard disk drives, peripherals and biometric security solutions, has been honored with the Frost & Sullivan Product Innovation of the Year Award for its revolutionary approach in biometric technology. The Fujitsu palm vein authentication device, PalmSecure, was recognized for its high level of security and consistency, ease-of-use, and strong level of user acceptance due to its contactless, non-invasive authentication process.

To recognize the recipient of the Product Innovation of the Year Award, Frost & Sullivan evaluated products on the basis of the products' competitive advantages and significance in their respective industries, innovation in terms of unique or revolutionary technology, and product acceptance and penetration in the marketplace. Fujitsu was selected for demonstrating technical superiority within the biometric category, with its vein recognition biometric products using a unique non-contact user interaction technique.

"Frost & Sullivan is proud to bestow the Best Practice Awards to Fujitsu for its research and development in the biometric field," said Imran Kahn, Frost & Sullivan. "With its revolutionary technology, competitive advantage, and mass product acceptance, Fujitsu's PalmSecure is well positioned to penetrate the financial, health care, and government access control market."

"Fujitsu is honored to receive this prestigious award recognition among a number of innovative technologies," said Joel Hagberg, vice president, marketing and business development, Fujitsu Computer Products of America Inc. "We're experiencing growth in the marketplace adoption of the PalmSecure device in the United States, and the Frost & Sullivan Award further validates Fujitsu in serving the industry's complex business needs."
