SUSS MicroTec Strengthens Application Support Network

Today, SUSS MicroTec AG, a leading supplier of precision production and test equipment for the semiconductor industry, officially opened its Application & Measurement Center in Singapore. The new facility houses state-of-the-art test equipment and will provide unique application support for customers in the Asia-Pacific region.
"This is the first facility in Asia that is dedicated to supporting our semiconductor probe system business. It is a milestone for the Test Systems Division and is an important investment for the SUSS Group," said Dr. Stefan Schneidewind, CEO of SUSS MicroTec. "The Test Systems Division is a key part of SUSS' business, and the establishment of this facility in Singapore is part of our growth strategy in the semiconductor test marketplace."

Consumers constantly demand better performance and more functionality from their electronics. As a result, semiconductor manufacturers need a quick and accurate feedback loop during the design and development process in order to ensure that new technologies will meet the end-users' needs. This feedback is provided in the form of accurate measurements of important device parameters, which are measured on devices such as MOSFET, CMOS, radio-frequency integrated circuits (RFICs), micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) and optosemiconductor devices like high-brightness LEDs and imaging sensors. Such measurements require the combination of wafer-level probing equipment with measurement instruments and software from various suppliers.
The Application & Measurement Center's role in Asia is to help ensure customer success in the deployment of sophisticated semiconductor characterization systems. The Singapore facility demonstrates SUSS MicroTec's superior capabilities in combining the various components needed for accurate characterization and modeling. The result is an integrated solution that enables highly accurate semiconductor measurements of I-V, C-V, noise and scattering (s-) parameters. This also means quicker application support for customers, which helps improve their measurement accuracy and the return on their investments.
