Avnet Technology Solutions Americas, a value-added distributor of enterprise computing products, software and services, and an operating group of Avnet Inc., has announced the addition of Joe Rueda to the senior management team for its IBM business unit. As Vice President of Sales, Rueda will be responsible for managing sales teams across the United States to profitably grow business for Avnet and its partners.
"I've known Joe for many years, and have always been impressed with his high level of sales, marketing and management experience, and deep understanding of the industry," said Tony Madden, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Avnet Technology Solutions' IBM business unit. "During his tenure with IBM, Joe even helped develop Avnet as a newly recruited IBM distributor. His long-standing history with IBM, combined with his experience working with Avnet, makes Joe the ideal person to continue providing Avnet's IBM partners with access to innovative and complete solutions."
A seasoned executive, Rueda joins Avnet from IBM where he has more than 14 years of experience in sales and management, most recently as director, Americas business partner sales for the IBM Systems Group. Throughout his career at IBM, Rueda has achieved success selling to the small and medium business market, financial institutions and the software channel. While at IBM, he played a pivotal role in developing Avnet as a new IBM distributor. Later, Rueda built the strategy, associated management systems, sales, business development and marketing teams to drive independent software vendor solution sales on the iSeries platform. Before joining Avnet, Rueda served as the executive assistant to the general manager for IBM's Global Business Partners.
