Frost & Sullivan recognizes companies for outstanding achievements across industrial technologies

The second edition of the Frost & Sullivan Industrial Technologies Awards was held to recognise the outstanding performance by companies within the industries of Smart Cards, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Electronics, Energy & Power Systems, Environment & Building Technologies and Aerospace & Defense.

The awards seek to showcase best practices in the industry segments, which are synonymous with Frost & Sullivan’s in-depth analysis and coverage of these industries. In keeping with the company’s time-honoured commitment of excellence and innovation, the awards offered are carefully reviewed and evaluated to reflect the current market landscape inclusive of the emerging technology trends. The awards are based on extensive market engineering tools evolved by Frost & Sullivan over the years. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis, and extensive secondary research in order to identify best practices in the industry.

The Industrial Technologies Awards were introduced in 2006 and in its inaugural year, honored best practices in the industries of smart cards, radio frequency identification (RFID) and security, electronics, industrial automation, industrial process control, energy & power systems, and environment & building technologies industries. This year, the scope expanded and included the industry markets of aerospace & defense as well as technical insights (which identify new and emerging technologies across all the industries).

The companies commended as Award recipients are those with the diligence, perseverance, innovation and dedication required to develop a successful business plan and excel in the increasingly competitive global marketplace. The awards are presented to companies that have displayed superior accomplishments and exemplary achievements in areas such as market leadership, marketing strategy, business development strategy, market penetration, customer service, growth strategy, product line strategy, amongst others. As Asian economies grow, companies will have to deliver increasing value to customers to stay as leaders. The Frost & Sullivan Industrial Technologies Awards will continue to capture these efforts and recognize excellence in various industries each year.

“Asia Pacific continues to be a growth engine of the global economy. Most of the industrial sectors continue to witness robust growth in 2007. This growth in the region has not only been driven by volume, but also by increasing value addition to the products. The focus is now on improving efficiencies, quality and innovation in processes, products and services,” said Mr. Satish Lele, Director, Industrial Technologies, Frost & Sullivan, Asia Pacific. He further added, “The essence of the Frost & Sullivan Industrial Technologies Awards is to capture and recognize these efforts across a wide range of industrial sectors.”

The guest of honor for the evening was Mr. Edwin Khew, President of Singapore Manufacturer's Federation. Around 200 attendees of the ceremony included chief executive officers, country managers, executive directors, and presidents from all the different and vast industries in the Asia Pacific region.
