XMOS appoints Richard Terrill as VP of Marketing

(Business News, 30 Oct 2007 )

XMOS Semiconductor, the creator of Software Defined Silicon (SDS), a new class of programmable semiconductor, has appointed Richard Terrill as Executive Vice President of Marketing. Bringing more than 20 years of high technology marketing and engineering experience in Silicon Valley, Terrill will handle the firm's worldwide marketing and product planning activities.

Terrill joins XMOS from Velogix, where he was Vice President of Marketing. He was previously with Xilinx, where he was responsible for worldwide strategic marketing, and has held senior management positions at Lightspeed, Cadence and Altera. He was a founder of RAPID, the IP business advocacy organization, and was a corporate representative to the VSI Alliance. Terrill has a B.S. degree in Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Terrill's extensive industry background ranges from product marketing and technology research to strategic marketing and business development. A common thread has been his involvement in programmable logic, custom silicon and electronic design automation (EDA) products. A key player in developing and delivering some of the most innovative and disruptive technologies in the programmable logic segment, he has extensive international experience, with broad exposure to technology markets in the US, Israel, Japan and Asia-Pacific.
"The board and management are thrilled to have Richard join our management team," said James Foster, President and CEO of XMOS. "We are pioneering a new class of programmable silicon, and his experience spanning programmable logic, ASIC, EDA and consumer end-markets will be a key factor in successfully establishing XMOS as a trusted supplier in our target markets”.
