Invensys executive to head automation consortium

(Business News, 06 Nov 2007 )

Invensys Process Systems has announced that Hartmut Wallraf, Chief of Technology and Vice President for Europe and Middle East Africa operations, has been elected Chairman of the Board of the FDT Group—a consortium of manufacturers and process instrumentation vendors who have come together to enable interoperability among diverse technology protocols.

"Mr. Wallraf has served actively on the Board of Directors for more than two years. He has consistently advocated the strategic role of FDT technology and has been instrumental in the strong commitment of Invensys to the FDT Group. Acceptance and use of the FDT standard has been growing steadily and we are pleased and honored to have someone with Hartmut's talents and dedication leading us in bringing this important technology to the industry," said Flavio Tolfo, Managing Director, FDT Group.

Mr. Wallraf has more than 30 year's experience in process industries, supporting process automation, measurement and control related to the refining, petrochemical, chemical/pharmaceutical and the power industry. He received his master's degree in engineering from the University of Cologne; he spent five years with Bayer in Germany; and has been with Invensys Foxboro in various functions for 27 years.

Mr. Wallraf succeeds Mr. Hartmut Wuttig, board member for ABB, who held the position for the past two years and who will continue representing ABB on the board.
