Altera’s Quartus II Software receives EDN China’s 2007 Innovation Award

Altera Corporation has announced its Quartus II software received EDN China’s 2007 Innovation Award in the development tools and software category. The EDN China Innovation Award honors products and technologies that are widely accepted and used in applications throughout the electronics industry. Quartus II software provides industry-leading performance and productivity features for Altera’s CPLD, FPGA and structured ASIC device families.
“Since the EDN China Innovation Award started in 2005, it has become a leading award in the Chinese electronics industry,” said John Mu, associate publisher of EDN China. “Being selected by Chinese engineers as the best product in the development tools and software category means Altera’s Quartus II software is highly respected by the Chinese electronic design community.”
Nominations for the 2007 EDN China Innovation Award were submitted by companies whose products were introduced in China between June 2006 and July 2007. A panel consisting of specialists from Chinese academic institutes and universities and leading Chinese OEMs selected the award finalists from among 192 submitted products, then award winners were determined by a group of qualified EDN China readers. For the 2007 EDN China Innovation Award, qualified readers voted on 76 finalist products from 50 companies. Altera’s Quartus II software version 7.0 was selected as one of the 2007 best products.

Winners of the 2007 EDN China Innovation Award were announced at the EDN China Innovation Conference and China Electronic Design Manager Forum in Shenzhen, China on November 8, 2007. A list of winners will also appear in the December print issue of EDN China and on its website, www.ednchina.com.
