Avago Technologies offers SerDes supporting Intel QuickPath interconnect

Avago Technologies announced the first availability of silicon-proven SerDes IP compliant with the Intel QuickPath interconnect. By demonstrating Intel QuickPath interconnect support in 90nm CMOS, the company enables server manufacturers to implement ASIC solutions for Intel-based computing applications while ensuring that customers meet performance, time to market, and manufacturability goals.

Avago is said to be the only merchant ASIC vendor to offer IP that supports the Intel QuickPath interconnect, and worked with Intel to jointly define a co-simulation and interoperability environment for server applications. Avago痴 broad SerDes offering spans multiple generations, and QuickPath SerDes is the latest addition to a portfolio that will include PCI-Express, Fibre Channel, CX-4, XAUI/ CEI-6G, XFI and 802.3ap. Avago also offers other IP for comuting applications such as fully buffered DIMM (FBD).
