Mouser Electronics Inc. is stocking the AAT1217 step-up converter from Advanced Analogic Technologies Inc., a supplier of power management semiconductors for mobile consumer electronics.
“Mouser’s engineering customers have come to expect us to rapidly stock and market the newest products from our supplier lineup,” said Mike Scott, Mouser’s Vice President of Active Products. “AnalogicTech’s new step-up converter allows our customers to drive substantial loads in their newest space-sensitive portable applications.”
The AAT1217 synchronous step-up converter offers designers extremely high output current in a compact package. Designed to support a wide range of handheld portable applications, the converter delivers up to 100mA output from a single-cell alkaline battery input, up to 400mA from a dual-cell alkaline battery input, and up to 500mA from a single-cell Li-ion battery input, while supporting startup as low as 0.85V.
The device operates from a wide input voltage range of 0.5V to VOUT. Using a slope-compensated current mode pulse width modulation (PWM) control topology, the AAT1217 operates at a 1.2MHz constant switching frequency allowing the use of small surface mount inductors. An integrated synchronous rectifier eliminates the need for an external Schottky diode.
The step-up converter features embedded anti-ringing control circuitry minimizing EMI by removing the high frequency ringing that appears on the SW pin when inductor current goes to zero. The device also features over-current protection and a low shutdown current of <1µA.
