Fairchild Semiconductor has received a “Most Popular Semiconductor Brands in China Award 2007” from CEN. International and local Chinese brands were eligible to compete in this prestigious industry award, and were judged according to four criteria: 1) brand influence; 2) sales performance; 3) technology and services superiority; and 4) localization (must provide excellent local support and services in terms of R&D, manufacturing, procurement and sales).
“We’re very pleased CEN and its readers have selected Fairchild for this award. We see this as an endorsement of our ongoing focus on power and energy efficiency, and the relentless implementation of our clearly-defined China business strategy which has been the key to our success in China,” said Allan Lam, executive vice president, Worldwide Sales and Marketing. “A brand is only as good as its products and Fairchild focuses on the design and development of products that foster a greener, ‘cooler’ world. Working closely with leading electronic manufacturers, and understanding the power challenges of new platforms, we are able to develop innovative technologies that meet the very specific needs of China’s electronics engineers.”
Fairchild’s business in China has grown rapidly since the company was established in 1997. In 2007 revenues were over US$480 million. Today the company has an unrivalled leading-edge power product portfolio and delivers innovative power solutions from its Global Power Resource centers and joint labs located close to its customers in China.
“China is, and will continue to be, a very important market for Fairchild, receiving this award further strengthens our leadership position. It’s very rewarding to see Fairchild’s team effort recognized by one of China’s leading industry publications, its readers and industry experts,” concluded Lam.
