NComputing expands to meet demand; appoints sales vice presidents for Asia-Pacific and EMEA

(Business News, 14 Apr 2008 )

NComputing, the leading provider of desktop virtualization software and hardware, has further strengthened its sales management team with the appointment of two new vice presidents of sales. Manish Sharma was appointed as the company's new vice president of sales for Asia-Pacific, while Frank Coggrave was appointed for the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region. Sharma and Coggrave will play key roles in directing the company's continued expansion in the Asia-Pacific and EMEA regions, which are showing very high growth rates for NComputing systems.

Manish Sharma, a 20-year veteran of the technology industry, has held director-level positions at Opentech Corporation, a leader in BPO and IT managed services, and Brooks Automation, a provider of tool automation solutions for semiconductors.

Frank Coggrave has more than 20 years of sales experience in EMEA, where he led sales teams for such companies as Websense, Texas Instruments, and Telelogic. Before joining NComputing, Coggrave spent five years as VP of sales at Websense, where he helped the business treble in size, building strong sales teams and an extensive channel. At Telelogic, the global leader in software and services for enterprise lifecycle management, Coggrave served as president for EMEA. Previously, Coggrave served as a general manager at Jacada, a provider of process optimization solutions, and held a leading channel sales position at Texas Instruments.

The NComputing solution is based on a simple fact: today's PCs are so powerful that the vast majority of applications only use a small fraction of the computer's capacity. NComputing's virtualization software and hardware tap this unused capacity so that it can be simultaneously shared by multiple users. Each user's monitor, keyboard, and mouse connect to the shared PC through a small and very durable NComputing access device. The access device itself has no CPU, memory or moving parts like a PC so it is rugged, durable, and easy to deploy and maintain.

With the NComputing X300 model, seven users can simultaneously share a single computer, while the company's L-series supports up to 10 users on a basic computer, 30 on a mid-range system, and hundreds on enterprise-class servers. A breakthrough in green computing, NComputing access devices consume as little as 1 watt per user, versus 115 watts for a typical PC. Support costs plummet because fewer PCs are needed and the solid-state NComputing access devices require little or no maintenance. More than 600,000 NComputing seats have already been deployed by 15,000 organizations in over 70 countries, slashing their computing costs by as much as 70% and electric consumption by 90%.
