Multi-use TCXO for GPS applications

(Technology News, 22 Apr 2008 )

Raltron Electronics has released its new Series RTXY-104 TCXO crystal oscillators designed specifically for GPS applications.

The electrical specifications and availability of typical frequencies such as 16.367667Mhz, 16.368Mhz and 16.369Mhz are directly compatible with the requirements of the leading GPS IC solutions currently prevailing in the market.

Besides the GPS market, the series is also eminently suitable for other applications including, WLAN, Mobile Phone, PDA/Smart Phone, WiMax and other base station usages.

The RTXY-104 Series comes in a compact package measuring a mere 3.2 x 2.5mm offering a frequency choice of between 12.8MHz to 40.0MHz at a frequency stability of ±0.5PPM over its temperature range of –30 to +85°C. Input current is at 2.7V @ 1.5mA with a typical low phase noise ratio of –130dBc/Hz at 1Khz offset.

The Raltron RTXY-104 Series features a voltage control option making it additionally applicable for PLL’s, where its low power consumption makes the part additionally suitable for battery powered applications.
