Adding to the vendor’s RailClamp solid-state protection-device family, the RClamp0524J 5V protection device aims at DisplayPort and other high-speed applications. Providing a 0.3-pF capacitance, the protection device meets IEC 61000-4-0 standards for ESD protection, including ±15-kV for air and ±8-kV for contact. The device also meets EFT (electrical-fast-transient) and lightning-strike IEC standards. Measuring 2.7×1×0.58 mm in a SLP2710P8-8 package, the RClamp0524J costs 35 cents (1000).
