Ultra-miniature 30 Watt encapsulated AC/DC switching supplies

(Technology News, 10 Jul 2008 )

Designed to meet the power and EMC noise performance requirements in instrumentation, control, and telecommunication systems, Astrodyne has added 30 Watt units to the popular ECA Series of ultra-miniature encapsulated switching power supplies for EMC noise compliance to EN 60601-1-2:2001. The ECA30 series accepts universal input from 90-264VAC and 22 models are available that provide output power of 30 Watts, with single, dual and triple outputs from 5VDC to 48VDC.

The new ECA30 Series provides an economical power solution, and are pin-out and size compatible to more costly encapsulated modules. The ECA30 Series will operate over the ambient temperature range of -10ーC to 50ーC without forced cooling or output power derating. All models contain internal input filtering, overvoltage and short circuit protection circuitry. The ECA30 Series is both RoHS 2002/95/EC compliant and fully approved to UL/EN60950-1 safety specifications. For medical applications the series is also available in medically-approved EMA30 versions to UL/EN60601-1 safety levels. Dimensions are as small as 3.5"L X 2.5"W X 0.98"H and all models are designed for pin mount PCB plug-in or screw terminal chassis mounting. Prices start at $63 in OEM quantities with delivery times of stock to 6 weeks ARO.
