Mistral brings leading Ada development solution to Indian defense market

(Technology News, 10 Jul 2008 )

Bangalore – Mistral Solutions Pvt. Ltd., a leading provider of complete technology solutions and professional services in the embedded space has announced the availability of the GNAT Pro solution from AdaCore, leading provider of commercial, open software solutions for Ada.

Used by industry and government customers worldwide in mission-critical software products ranging from small-footprint real-time embedded applications to large-scale information management systems, the GNAT Pro is a robust and flexible Ada development environment.

The comprehensive GNAT Pro Toolsuite includes a full Ada compiler, Integrated Development Environment (GNAT Programming Studio), a comprehensive set of utilities including a visual debugger, libraries and bindings and the latest technology addition, GNATbench plug-in for Eclipse allowing development teams to take full advantage of the benefits that Ada offers, thereby ensuring a smooth, cost-effective development process.

Distributed with complete source code, and backed by rapid and expert Ada support service the GNAT Pro allows development of pure Ada applications as well as Ada components in multi-language systems. It is the first Ada development environment to support all three ISO standards of the Ada programming language (Ada 83, Ada 95, and Ada 2005).

Employing AdaCore’s GNAT Pro High-Integrity Edition for DO-178B Ada environment, Mistral has initiated a project early this year that will enable the Indian Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) to create new safety-critical flight control systems and support advanced Indian defense programs.
GNAT Pro High-Integrity Edition for DO-178B supports the development of safety-critical and security-critical applications for embedded systems, servers and workstations. It is the ideal solution for any safety-critical development effort for avionics, high speed rail, nuclear shutdown, medical, and other industries where top levels of safety must be assured. It satisfies DO-178B and can support related standards including IEC 61508, RIA-23, and Def Stan 00-55/56.
