Mistral Makes Available new board Level Products Supporting Xilinx Virtex-5 FXT FPGAs

(Product News, 11 Jul 2008 )

Bangalore – Mistral Solutions Pvt. Ltd., a leading provider of complete technology solutions and professional services in the embedded space has made available new rugged board level products supporting the new Xilinx Virtex-5 FXT FPGA from Curtiss Wright.

The Xilinx Virtex-5 FXT FPGAs enable the integration of high-performance GTX serial transceivers and features large numbers of DSP48E slices, and embedded PowerPC 440 processor on a single FPGA, ideal for the high performance and low-power requirements of rugged defense and aerospace multi-computing applications.

Optimized for embedded processing and memory-intensive applications with highest-speed serial connectivity, the Virtex™-5 FPGAs offers integrated system-level capabilities that shrink design cycles and reduce system cost. The Virtex-5 FXT platform joins Curtiss-Wright’s Virtex-5 LXT and SXT-FPGA based products in the deployment of heterogeneous systems along with digital signal processing (DSP) and general purpose processing elements in a range of commercial and rugged environments. The new FPGAs’ support for low-power serial connectivity, including a built-in PCI Express block, will ease and speed the integration of such systems.

Target defense and aerospace applications for which the Virtex-5 FXT is ideal include demanding image and signal processing problems such as radar, signal intelligence, software defined radio, and real-time imaging.
