New Delhi: Veraz Networks Inc—provider of Multimedia Generation Network application, control, and bandwidth optimization products—and Belgacom International Carrier Services (Belgacom ICS), wholesale carriers worldwide and in mobile data transit services, announced that they have successfully completed testing the GSM Association’s (GSMA) IP eXchange (IPX) service.
Patrick George, vice president, marketing & product management, Belgacom ICS, said, “Belgacom ICS was pleased to work with Veraz Networks to demonstrate the capabilities of the GSMA’s IPX. We believe that the IPX provides a clear path towards global interconnected IP networks that will better serve the needs of mobile operators.”
Amit Chawla, global business units, Veraz EVP, said, “We are happy to be working with Belgacom ICS to demonstrate the value of the GSMA IPX. The comprehensive support for both TDM and IP services and advanced media management capabilities of the Veraz’s IPX solution provides a powerful end-to-end network architecture for operators interested in offering IPX services.”
Belgacom ICS expects to launch commercial services based on the GSMA IPX later this year.
Veraz Network’s IPX solution includes the ControlSwitch converged TDM and IP softswitch, the Network-adaptive Border Controller family of security products and the I-Gate 4000 family of media gateways. The ControlSwitch’s policy based routing engine and interworking of SS7, SIP-I and SIP protocols; the I-Gate 4000 media gateways’ enhanced media management capabilities; and simplified end-to-end operations support are key attributes of Veraz’s IPX solution. This combination provides an end-to-end platform for offering advanced IPX services.
