Vishay Intertechnology has released an automotive thin film chip resistor in the 0603 case size to combine a high operating temperature to +175°C (1000 hours) and an advanced level of rated power.
While most thin film chip resistors offer power ratings to 100mW at +70°C ambient temperature, the power rating of the MCT 0603 AT is specified to 150mW at +85°C. The high power rating, resistance to humidity, and high-temperature performance of the new Vishay Beyschlag chip resistor meet the automotive requirements.
With an excellent moisture resistivity specified to ≤0.5% (+85°C; 85% RH; 1000h) and 1000V ESD capability, the device is optimized to provide high reliability in harsh environments. In addition to AEC-Q200 compliance, CECC approval ensures the MCT 0603 AT meets a set of demanding and sophisticated short-term and long-term performance requirements as defined by EN 140401-801. Compliance with these requirements is verified through periodic audits by an external and independent Testing and Certification Institute.
The resistor delivers stable performance for automotive electronics, including engine control units, gearbox controls, body electronics, and safety, power supply, and braking systems.
