Farnell-Newark Signs Franchise Agreement with Altera

Farnell-Newark, the leading multi-channel, high service distributor in Asia Pacific has signed an agreement with Altera Corporation to stock and support its products locally in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Brunei, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia and India. This partnership complements Altera’s existing distributor relationships and expands Altera’s reach to Asia Pacific customers seeking readily available, limited-volume quantities.

Farnell-Newark will offer the full line of Altera FPGA and CPLD devices and development kits, including the high-density, high-performance Stratix FPGA series, low-cost Cyclone FPGA series, Arria FPGA series and the MAX CPLDs series, through its multi-channel model of 7 websites, paper-based catalogues and field and telesales force. Stock will be held locally at Farnell-Newark warehouses and its high service proposition will provide dedicated local language technical application support either online through ‘live chat’ or via telephone.

Altera is a world leader in innovative FPGA and CPLD solutions. Its programmable logic solutions are able to address the latest applications for customers in a wide variety of industries including automotive, broadcast, computer and data storage, consumer, industry, medical, military, test & measurement , wireless and wireline communications.
Commenting on the new agreement with Altera, Salman Syed, President of Asia Pacific at Farnell-Newark said: “We are hugely excited about the addition of Altera to our linecard and the benefits that this will bring to our design engineer customer base.
