ADLINK Technology has announced the release of the PXI-3950, a dual-core PXI controller which combines the Intel Core2 Duo T7500 2.2 GHz processor, Mobile Intel GME965 chipset and 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 memory to provide cutting-edge performance for high-end test and measurement applications such as RF testing , sound/vibration analysis and automatic optical inspection. The PXI-3950, the latest addition to ADLINK’s new family of PXI controllers for hybrid testing systems, integrates multiple I/O interfaces (including dual GbE, GPIB, USB and COM) to support a wide variety of bench-top instruments.
To further increase system performance, the PXI-3950 also supports a 7200 RPM 120 GB hard drive. To maintain thermal reliability, the PXI-3950 incorporates a heat sink composed of aluminum and a heat pipe. The heat pipe rapidly transmits the heat generated from CPU to the large surface area of heat sink. This composite heat sink enables the PXI-3950 to operate in an extended 0 - 55°C extensive temperature range, while maintaining all critical components in a stable working temperature.
The PXI-3950 additionally incorporates a dual Gigabit Ethernet port configuration, which allows the use of one GbE port for LAN connectivity and the other port for a determinative bandwidth and latency connection with LXI instruments.
