Advantech Launches Industrial-grade CompactFlash

(Technology News, 04 Feb 2009 )

Advantech Co. has announced the release of its own brand CompactFlash card called SQFlash which comes with secure, smart flash management. Advantech cooperated with Phison, a worldwide leader of USB drives and memory card controllers for the SQF-P10 series. This new CompactFlash card with CF Type-I interface and UDMA5 transfer mode provides superb performance as a boot device. In order to help protect customers’ intellectual property and maintain system stability, Advantech has designed-in their own SUSI-SQFlash software package, which includes Software Protection and Life-Monitoring features, so security and early warning functions can be more easily developed for applications.

SUSI-SQFlash

In response to increasing customer demand for high-performance, advanced security storage technology, Advantech SQFlash cards combine with the SUSI software package to provide a total solution. The software package comes with utilities and libraries protected by Product Keys for each user, and users can apply access codes from Advantech to design-in unique security features. The software package provides two key features:

Software Protection

Security ID allows users to set a hidden security string. An encrypted library helps users to read/write to a hidden area, making it easy to protect their applications’ IP.

Life-Monitoring

Self-monitoring, analysis, and reporting technology is implemented into the OS application level allowing users to access that data.

Life-span detection is a function that acts as an early warning system for the host by providing drive usage records as a percentage of the endurance specification.
