Micrel has launched the MAQ5280, said to be industry's first 120V LDO designed and qualified for the automotive market. The device consumes 31µA of quiescent current and has a typical shutdown current of 20nA. Capable of delivering a guaranteed output current of 25mA and an ultra-high PSRR of greater than 80dB, the device is considered an ideal component for stand-by power supplies in automotive applications and noise sensitive applications such as RF and audio.
The MAQ5280 is Micrel's first AEC-Q100 dedicated analog automotive product and can withstand the load dump requirement for a wide variety of automotive systems. It has an adjustable output voltage capable of providing voltages between 1.215V and 5V, and can provide power for a wide variety of devices within an automotive system, all without the need for any protection circuitry.
