Avago Technologies has launched its second series of hermetically sealed 3.3V high gain optocouplers for use in aerospace, industrial and military applications. Avago’s ACPL-570xL/573xL/177xL series include single, dual, and quad channel hermetically sealed optocouplers that require only 0.5mA input current and are capable of operation at temperatures ranging from -55°C to 125°C to meet the harsh requirements of aerospace, industrial and military applications. These low-voltage optocouplers are also ideal for microprocessor system interfaces, process control input/output isolation, voltage level shifting, and logic ground isolation.
Avago’s 3.3V hermetic optocoupler series helps reduce or eliminate the need for extra interface components or voltage converters. Additionally, these low-voltage hermetic optocouplers will help to simplify power supply design, and reduce board space, as well as cost for manufacturers. Each channel of the optocouplers contains a GaAsP light emitting diode which is optically coupled to an integrated high gain photon detector. In addition, the high gain output stage features open collector output providing both lower saturation voltage and higher signal speed than is possible with conventional photo-Darlington optocouplers.
