Infineon Technologies AG’s F3R CoolSET series (ICE3BRxx65JF) of integrated power ICs comes in Fullpak package, and features a PWM controller inherited from the F3R DIP-8 CoolSET. Combined with the CoolMOS MOSFET, the device can work in medium power range—from 40W to 150W, requires lesser PCB area, and is suitable for applications in DVD players/recorders, set-top boxes, adapters, and LCD monitors.
The device features active burst mode and frequency jittering, providing very high energy efficiency at standby mode, and low EMI radiation. Other key specifications include 650V avalanche rugged CoolMOS with built-in Startup Cell; BiCMOS technology to enable wide VCC range; 67kHz fixed switching frequency; auto restart protection mode for over-load, open loop, Vcc over-voltage, under-voltage and over-temperature; and built-in and extendable blanking window for system power surge. The ICE3BRxx65JF meets Efficiency Level Mark IV.
