Stratix IV GX Transceiver Signal Integrity Development Kit Allows Fast and Easy Prototyping and Testing of High-speed Interfaces

( 01 Jul 2009 )
By Stephen Las Marias, Editor, EDNA

Altera Corp.’s Transceiver Signal Integrity Development Kit, Stratix IV GX Edition, has an Altera Stratix IV GX FPGA with transceivers that operate up to 8.5Gbps, allowing engineers to prototype and test their high-speed interfaces quickly and easily. Utilizing this kit, customers can test drive Altera’s 40nm Stratix IV GX FPGA under their specific design system requirements.

The Transceiver Signal Integrity Development Kit, Stratix IV GX Edition includes a Stratix IV GX Signal Integrity Development Board, which has the EP4SGX230KF40C3N or EP4SGX230KF40C2N on-board FPGA; eight transceiver channels routed to SMA connectors; a flash memory for storing FPGA images; embedded USB-Blaster for FPGA configuration and control; and a power measurement circuitry. Its application GUI allows users to change transceiver settings and data patterns, and displays bit error rates for each transceiver channel, temperature, and power-consumption information.
