AVX Launches 0201 MLVs
(Product News, 14 Aug 2009 )

Circuit protection leader AVX has released the first two parts in a planned miniature MLV product series. The 0201 MLVs offers designers the ability to clamp transients and filter EMI in one ultra compact device offering the perfect solution for continuously shrinking board real estate. The devices are available in 15pF and 33pF capacitance in 5.6V rating.

Other key specifications include bidirectional ESD protection; leakage current <5µA; multiple strike capability of 1,000 strikes at 8kV contact; and sub-1ns response time to ESD strike.

The devices are suitable for all handheld device applications such as cell phones and PDAs, as well as embedded components, camera modules, and hearing aids.
