Texas Instruments Inc.’s OPA1612 dual-channel, bipolar-input audio operational amplifier, from the company’s Burr-Brown Audio line, offers designers 60 percent less noise and 50 percent lower distortion for clear, crisp sound. The device supports multiple channels without significant power consumption in applications such as professional audio and broadcast studio equipment, microphone pre-amplifiers, analog and digital mixing consoles, high-end A/V receivers, and audio test and measurement equipment.

The OPA1612 has an ultra-low distortion of 0.000015 percent at 1kHz, and features rail-to-rail output swing to within 600mV with a 2Ωload, increasing headroom and maximizing dynamic range. The device is rated at ±2.25V to ±18V from only 3.6mA of supply current per channel, providing excellent dynamic behavior over a wide range of load conditions.
